Black and White Abstract Artwork

#1 How freaking ridic was Madonna yesterday?  I want her outfits.  I want her hair. I want her body. I want her swaggger.

#2 For the past few months I have been craving Black and White abstract artwork like a fat kid craves cake.  Most of my art is of nature, portraits, or photography.  The simplicity and graphic look of crisp Black and White contrast is really speaking to me right now.  And I think I might actually be artistically inclined enough to create this all on my own!  Boo-ya bitches!  I can get it on the cheap and brag about how creatively bad ass I am! OMG, I’m so excited!

There are lots of different ways to display this type of art (just like every type of art) and I like lots of versions.  I love to see it in a gold frame against a white wall, but I also like to see the canvas hung on their own over a brightly colored wall.  Either way, I really really likes me a SUPER HUGE canvas.  Bigger is always better, am I right or am I right?

How do you like to see this type of art displayed?  Think I should bust out the paint brushes soon?

Also, sorry to be lazy and credit all of these images to myPintrest.  I’ve been trying to get better about tracking down original sources but today I’m a bit of a sicky and just want to crawl back under the covers as soon as humanly possible (and no, I’m not just hungover from the Super Bowl party). XO

  1. You can definitely do this yourself. Good luck and godspeed 😉

  2. Same here! I’m also working on my own b&w abstract. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! xoxo

  3. I want to be able to do it myself, too! I’m positive yours will be gorge! Do it and then show us pics. xo

  4. These pieces are absolutely fab. I am a huge lover of abstract art.

  5. obsessed with the black and white theme in rooms!

  6. Yes, Madonna was awesome. How the hell does she look better than I ever will and she’s like 25 years older than me?

Love me some black and white abstract art. I’m thinking of just closing my eyes and splattering that black paint anywhere on the canvas. Could work.

  7. I’ve tried to create my own art and its was so pathetically ugly. Think I’ll leave that to the pros. I do love what it can do to a room, though! Think my next art purchase will be BW

  8. Hello Jessie, I have just written and article about black and white abstract painting at and got to your post trying to find examples. Excellent examples the ones you´ve choosen. Congratulations
