New Guy in Town

I’m still digging through our thousands hundreds of Italy pictures and can’t wait to post them!  I figured I’d share some work updates in the mean time because life isn’t all about vacations, even though it should be…

On one project, I’m designing the living and dining room for a brand-new-to-me and brand-new-to-town client.  A thirty-something single guy (My boyfriend was SO excited I’m working with another single guy >SARCASM<) with a RAD historic rehabbed townhouse just itching for some soul and personality. I’m on it!

This is what the space looked like when I met him…

He was obviously still moving in/unpacking…

Lots of glorious exposed AND beautiful crown molding, I hardly ever find those two together.  PLUS hardwood flooring and a Roomba?  Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!

Of course it’s not all rosy.  We know by now that men require offensively ginormous sized televisions.  But considering I’m on television, who am I to complain?  I will make it work on this here wall…

Walking into the space you face the brick wall, so you won’t even see the TV wall until actually being in the room.  Won’t be too bad at all, if I do say so myself.

These are some of the furnishings and accessories floating around in my head…

So far the sofa, coffee table, media cabinet, and both chairs have been ordered/purchased.

Here’s a sneak peak at the chairs…

Maverick Chair

Gordon Chair

They are just SO beautiful!  Beautiful in a manly way…right?

I won’t be spending too much time on the kitchen, mainly just styling as it was recently redone.  But new or not, those light fixtures have gots to go.

Lastly I will tackle the dining room….a very interesting space with ballerific potential…

I’m still in the brainstorming phase; but one thing is fo sho…

That chandelier can go scratch.  I mean, it ain’t gotta go home, but it’s gotta get the hell up outta there.

And it will be replaced by this bad boy…
