Even though I’m
bloated sleepy from the Christmas hustle and bustle, I’m really excited about celebrating New Years Eve this year. It may be considered “Amateur Night” to many; but I view it as the one last hurrah of the holiday season. A chance to press restart and start over with a clean slate; as well as sip champagne in a fabulous frock. Duh. This year we are going all out and attending a “Roaring 20s” theme party at the Chase Park Plaza.
I’m really excited to spend this year with my guy (who was in Afghanistan last year) and some of our closest friends. But of course I’ve been wardrobe stressing; just like I did for 2012.
I would really, Really, REALLY love to wear an Art Deco style, sequin gown like this one…But it just ain’t gonna happen. Christmas
drained put a dent in my wallet; so I’m whipping up a Gatspy-esque ensemble using all pieces I already own. Seriously. This is the general plan…Clockwise: (Faux fur stole/Feather hair clip/Aveda lipstick/Gold Jacquard Jacket/Half Moon manicure/Long strands of faux pearls/Black sandals/Black pleated maxi dress)
In addition, I will be sporting a faux bob, inspired my this look on Emma Stone.
Wish me luck! Not sure how I will look with “short” hair…
What will you be wearing to ring in the 2014? More importantly, who are you kissing at midnight?
Love Gatsby style! We have an annual Gatsby event back home and there’s nothing more glamorous than the fashion of the roaring 20’s. Great idea for New Years!
How FUN!! Should be amazing. And I bet you will look the part perfectly. Photos please!! And wishing you all the best for 2014!! I will be wearing panthers and diamonds!!! I will try and instagram later today 🙂
