PROJECT UPDATE: Preppy Chinoiserie

Hello boys and girls! In the midst of holiday stress hustle and bustle, I’m excited to share a peek at my second client install with CURE! I’m talking about the Preppy Chinoiserie bedroom.  If you recall, the client is a recent college grad who just moved back home into Mom and Dad’s basement for a year or so.  You can read all about the design plan HERE, but in the meantime….here’s a reminder of where we started….
Before 7 Yikies…..

This is summary of the plan…Preppy Chinoiserie

And here we are today….
Katie 1The space is not 100% complete; we still need to install a pair of mirrors behind either bedside lamp, wooden blinds need to go in behind the drapes, some hardware needs to be installed, and a few random finishing touches.  Then I hope to take some pretty pictures on my fancy camera; in the meantime, you can take a peek at some quick iPhone pics.

Since the client is only living in the space for a year or so, all of the budget had to go to items she could take with her. No room to get rid of the popcorn ceiling or carpet, but it still looks great.Katie 14Katie 2Katie 12Katie 7Looking at this picture, I realized I need to stack some books under the desk lamp.  I want the shade to hit between the presh Pink Pagoda prints.  How cute did they turn out?!

Katie 13Katie 5I switched out the stock hardware for this gold tassel-like hardware; it is an easy way to make inexpensive furniture look more luxe.

Katie 11One of my fav accessories to add to a space is a bust.  Love working with lady clients….my bachelors don’t seem to love them as much as I do.

Katie 15I was hopeful the client loved the space as much as I did.  She didn’t get home from work until 9 pm, so I would miss the “reveal” which is the best part.  Luckily her Mom recorded her seeing the space for the first time, so cute!

Isn’t that sweet? Incase you were wondering, I am now designing her Mom’s living room. Stay tuned!

If you need help transforming a space, please e-mail me at jessie@curedesigngroup. I’d love to help!
